Dance Express has been a family-owned business for nearly 80 years! Pat Donelan Zint, began teaching dance in the 1940's. Starting out as Patricia Zint School of Dance, she would travel to her student’s houses and conduct classes in their homes. Eventually, wanting a more permanent space, she transformed the chicken coop in her backyard into a dance studio. As her student base continued to grow, she soon outgrew the backyard studio and moved to Newport, Kentucky where she continued to teach classes until 1984 when her niece, Tara Jurgens, took over ownership and changed the name to Dance Express. Dance Express remained in the same Newport location under Tara's leadership until 2006 when it moved to its current location in Ft. Thomas. In the summer of 2013, Tara's niece, Sonja Harney, became the third owner of the family-run dance studio and continued to hold classes at the Ft. Thomas studio until the summer of 2024, when Dance Express was relocated to Taylor Mill, Kentucky.
