2020-2021 Policies and Procedures
Student Drop-off and Pick-up:
Student Conduct:
Dress Code:
Girls - All students should wear leotard and tights, unitard or biker shorts. Absolutely no gym shorts or sweats. A close-fitting t-shirt or sweatshirt is permitted during the warm-up when it is cold out. All hair must be pulled completely up and secured away from the face.
Boys - A t-shirt and shorts or sweats are permitted. Their clothes should be comfortable but not too big.
Shoes:
All students must have the appropriate shoes by the second week of lessons. All students need pink leather full or split sole ballet shoes. No satin ballet slippers (bedroom type slipper) are permitted. Students in preschool, beginner, and intermediate dance need flat black patent-leather tap shoes (tap shoe ribbons must be replaced with loops of black elastic). Advanced dance students will need black flat jazz style tap shoes and black jazz shoes. Tumbling students should be barefoot during class.
Fundraiser:
Fundraiser information will be distributed during the first few weeks of class. This is a great way to help decrease the costs associated with the recital. Student participation is not mandatory; however, students will earn costume credit for each pre-determined amount of merchandise sold. Money should be collected at the time the order is taken. All orders must be paid for with one check, or money order, when the order is turned in. We will only accept checks from our dance families.
Inclement Weather:
In some cases of inclement weather, we may be forced to cancel classes due to student safety. Please check our website or call the studio one hour before your scheduled class time.
** ONE CLASS MAY BE CANCELLED DURING THE DANCE YEAR WITHOUT BEING RESCHEDULED OR MADE UP. **
Class Observations (Watch Week):
Due to government restrictions regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, we are unable to schedule class observation weeks at this time. This policy will be reevaluated as guidelines change.
Recitals:
This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to showcase their talents and hard work. Dates and times will be announced as soon as they have been set. In the past, our recital has usually been the weekend before Memorial Day.
** ALL BALANCES FOR THE DANCE YEAR MUST BE PAID IN FULL A WEEK BEFORE THE RECITALS IN ORDER FOR YOUR CHILD TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DANCE RECITALS. **
Web Site:
Student pictures will periodically appear (without names) on our Web site. If you do not want your child's picture to appear on our Web site, please let us know in writing.
